5% total (not 5% + 1%). Paid as CashPoints (1 CashPoint = ₹1 against the statement). Recognised by the merchants' terminal/merchant IDs (TID/MID); a transaction whose TID/MID is not in HDFC's set-up does not qualify. Non-EMI spends only: EMI purchases, even at these merchants, earn nothing. Uber qualifies only for travel/commute spends under MCC 4121. Gift card, prepaid card, wallet-load and voucher purchases (MCC 6540), even at these merchants, do not get 5%. Purchases from these merchants made through SmartBuy or PayZapp earn only 1% (plus any separate SmartBuy/PayZapp offer).
